Works of... art (?) Videos

Sometimes I make synthetic videos (without AI). They are synthetic in the sense that they don’t typically contain much in terms of footage captured with real cameras; most source imagery was computer-generated to begin with, either by video games or 3D modelling software.

My intention is definitely not to become a youtuber, but YouTube is a convenient (and cheap) place where to dump videos, in a service people are already familiar with.

My most successful video, both in terms of algorithmic reach and in terms of my own assessment of its quality, is my parody of the GTA 6 trailer, on which I’ve even written some director’s commentary:

That is the only video which I had actually intended to be extremely popular. It took a ton of effort to make - I doubt I’ll ever make such a high-effort video again - and it was meant to be part of a trend that was happening at the time; if it hadn’t been algorithmically successful (for the standards of a channel with less than a thousand subscribers), I would actually have been disappointed. It is the only video of mine for which I had such ambitions, so I was relieved and very proud to see it reach over a hundred thousand views.

Using similar technical approaches, I’ve also made an unofficial music video for Kasger’s drum and bass remix of Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush:

Then there are the eight unlisted videos that I produced mostly in Blender, relating to my memecoin-adjacent video sharing website, JungleTV. Here are some of them, starting with two generic interstitials to be used whenever we need to fill dead air on the JungleTV “broadcast:”

I also created videos to celebrate specific moments in JungleTV’s evolution:

With JungleTV being a project in the mature and decaying stage of its life, I additionally made a video to celebrate what it accomplished. Instead of Blender, this one is based on GTA V machinima - with some light evidence of game modding - and features some datamoshing visuals in the latter half:
